Come to School in Sports Clothes for Charity Print

On Friday 23rd March, we will be raising money for Sport Relief! This will be a non-uniform day; students who choose to come in non-uniform have to wear sports clothing or dress up as their favourite sports star!  Non-uniform will cost £1.   No other non–uniform is permitted.

Our very own, Courtney Limb (Year 9) has been selected from the many thousands of entries to be a London 2012 Olympic Torch bearer. Many congratulations on this historic achievement.

 
Dramatically Spreading the Word Print
TIE-PhotoRecently our Year 13 BTEC Theatre in Education company went on a successful tour of local Primary Schools, with their performances entitled 'Stranger Danger' and 'Road Safety.' The primary students very much enjoyed the performances in which they got to question the choices and decide the fate of each of the characters.
 
Success at Shakespeare for Schools Print

Shaky22 students from Years 8, 9 and 10 performed at The Drill Hall on Thursday 10th November in a highly convincing and complex rendition of King Lear. The play, directed by, Mr Clayton and Miss Peacock, was praised by judges for its use of physical theatre and its modern twist on the theme of power, with Apprentice style staging and music. Gabe Fox-Widdows was commended for his portrayal of the power-hungry King and Tom Chambers praised for his characterisation of the manipulative Edmund.

Viva Italia! Print

Our Year 8&9 students recently returned from a fantastic trip to Italy.  The jam-packed 5 days included outings to the fascinating 2000 year old Roman City of Herculaneum, the volcano Solfatara, the Island of Capri, an energetic walk up Mount Vesuvius, and some delicious food tasting at a farm and an ice cream factory The weather was wonderful and a good time was had by all!
